I guess I never added a picture of the kitty of the farm. Here is a pic of Chupee. He is a beautiful kitty that used to belong to Jodi. She got a new apartment and Chupee was in the process of wrecking it so he got to come to Gramma's house for an extended visit! He has blended in well. He loves life in the country and almost every morning leaves a small offering of mouse (dead of course) on my doorstep.

Dakota, the horse, came to Riverside Ranch 7 years ago. He arrived here as a boarder and won the right to be the boss of the herd in a dramatic battle with the leader of the time. He had a kicking match which I had to watch and hope neither would end up with serious injuries. The former leader (Big Guy) actually beat him to the ground. A small pony he had bonded with called to him and led him far from the herd for the rest of that night.

It is the second day of spring and still the entire farm is under about 3 feet of snow! We are getting a little sick of winter around here. The firewood pile is down to the last hurrah and still we are getting way below freezing temperatures. The horses are getting a little tired of the hay but of course gobble up everything I put down for them twice a day.
