  • Name: Patti Paul
  • About: I was born in Magnetawan, Ontario in 1951. I guess it is time to update this story as I said I would. Jurgen and I lived here on this farm and ran it as an organic self-sufficient operation. We raised all of our own vegetables, livestock, milked a cow and made yoghurt, cheese etc. Our children grew up in a little piece of paradise with ponies, chickens for pets, and freedom. We home-schooled the kids and it was a great experience I think for all involved. We put the kids into school at grade 7 after they had a solid background in the basics of reading, writing and math. They found lots of the kids in school were lagging far behind them in these basics. The kids learned all their bookwork in the morning and the afternoon was filled with everything from plucking chickens, making sausage, baking and cooking to just roaming the fields and forests on ponies exploring nature. These kids have grown into responsible, honest young adults and I am very proud of them. Their father Jurgen passed away in 2000 of colon cancer but his spirit is with all of us every day.   • Interests: Horses, riding, sports, golf, hockey, swimming, throwing frisbee, paddle ball, table tennis, cycling and anything that involves physical activity, also painting and sketching which I haven't had much time to do in the last few years
  • Expertise: I work in a resort in a tourist area where I live. When I am not working there I work on my farm looking after my horses and taking people out on the trails on the farm on horseback.
